They started using Glue/Adhesive once they used at least three different types of Mortar to my knowledge, they are total rubbish other than the fact they are great at Thermal Heat Exchange, 1) they dont like change in Humidity, as it makes them expand and contract, which will eventually make them crack, I know as Ive owned 2 houses which used these blocks, every few years Ive had to fix the cracks in the walls, 2) you best use the best Hilti Anchor Bolts if hanging anything heavy off the wall, such as Vanity Cabinets, overhead Wall Cabinets or Clothes Driers, at least 100mm long, I usually drill 1mm undersize then fill the hole with Liquid Nails then screw the bolt in, things like Towel Rains and such I use Ramset 6 x 60mm RamPlug Long Nylon Anchor drilling in an upward direction and a downward direction, that way the item wont just pull out of the wall.
